It all began in 1965, as the founder of the company, Walter Henge, started to transport cement from the local cement works to ready-mixed and site mixing plants. As an "owner-driver", he transported bulk powdered construction materials with his silo truck.

In the mid-nineteen eighties, Hans-Walter Henge joined the family firm. A pure transport and logistics company became a trading firm for construction materials as well. During this time, the radius of operations was extended to cover the whole of Southern Germany.

At the beginning of the nineteen-nineties, HENGE established a presence in the whole of Eastern Germany and permanently consolidated its market position in Germany. During this time, BSR was also set up in Dessau, as the first recycled construction material company of its kind in Sachsen-Anhalt.

The growing success resulted in new jobs and extension of the fleet, which in turn led to a spatial change. In 1996, the company's new head office was built in the neighbouring town in Offenbach. Ecology and sustainability, important components of the company philosophy, were realised in the new building through rainwater usage and a photovoltaic array.

Up to the present day, HENGE has developed its position throughout Europe as a partner of the concrete industry and a special service provider by establishing various subsidiaries and joint ventures.

With the takeover of IMEXCO Minerals in Saarbrücken, in 2006, the HENGE Group is now a worldwide valued importer and exporter of raw materials and minerals. Construction of a new warehouse and service building for IMEXCO products and a new administration building in 2008, marked a further milestone in the company's history.

More than 50 employees in several locations in Europe will continue along the successfully taken path.
